Internships:

Get to know our diverse departments and our international company through an

internship, and put the knowledge and skills you’ve acquired during your studies into practice. Whether it’s a voluntary internship or a required internship as part of your degree program, we’d ideally like a duration of 6 months to give you as broad an understanding as possible of our fascinating world.

In general, you can complete an internship in all of our operational areas within shipping and logistics. In addition, we offer internship positions in the following areas: IT, Corporate Communications, Marketing & Sales, Finance & Controlling, and Human Resources.

Working Students:

As a working student, you can gain practical experience at a globally active shipping company while you’re still in school. You’ll work up to 20 hours per week in a specific department, supporting day-to-day operations as well as interesting projects and special initiatives. We’re happy to provide guidance for your professional development, offering a meaningful and valuable complement to your studies.

Legal Trainees:

Hapag-Lloyd AG offers interested legal trainees, after they have passed their first state examination, the opportunity to complete their mandatory and/or elective placements at the company and, in addition, to familiarize themselves with the work of a corporate lawyer in an internationally active corporate group. Our legal trainees are actively involved in day-to-day legal operations.

You will either support the Legal Department, which advises Hapag-Lloyd AG on all legally

relevant matters. Key areas of focus include: corporate law, commercial law, labor law, transportation and maritime trade law, and contract law.

Or you will work in the Corporate Insurance Risk Management department. Key areas include: national and international transportation, maritime trade, and insurance law, as well as project support and contract review from a liability and insurance perspective.
